Happy Fourth of July America!
Hopefully you’re having a wonderful celebration. I though it would only be fair to introduce to you Julie Ann Walker’s latest book from her Deep Six series, Devil and the Deep! You might remember me reviewing her first novel of the Deep Six series Hell or High Water, which you can re-read, where we fallows the action packed romantic adventure of Leo & Olivia!
Well, this time it’s all about Bran! Did I forget to mention theirs a little bit of treasure hunting involed?

Thanks to Netgallery and Sourcebooks Casablanca Lia’s Bookish Obsession had the opportunity to read Devil in the Deep by Julie Ann Walker months before it’s publication July 5th 2016! Devil and the Deep is book 2 of the Deep Six series! This review is no way swayed by my lust for strong fictional men who save their love interest in skin tight wet closed. Nope. This review is completely honest

The Review
Julie Ann Walker has an amazing action pack writing style that combines romances with heart stopping action scenes. Many times while reading the book I didn’t feel like I was actually reading, even though my cramped legs from sitting in one stop for to long could argue other wise! No, I left as if I were a director reading a script for the first time, yet falling in love with page I continued to read.

Bran Palladino is a sweet brooding character that might be a little awkward around physically human beings, thus he exchanges email from a tropical remote island through sat phone calls with, cue the love interest! Maddy Powers. Her last name truly tells you all you need to know about this highly educated female, she is a natural force, of course she has to be if Bran still thinks about her years later. How can you not think about an attractive strong female you kissed on her FATHERS YACHT moments before you, yourself dive off the vessel. That’s clearly not the middle of the mall kissing romances!

Devil and the Deep is a highly enjoyable read, which does fallow the flow of the first novel Hell or High Water. The dialogue in this novel is amazing and there are a lot of quirky, smirky comments that should not go unnoticed. Please keep you’re eyes on Bran internal dialogue it’s really hilarious. On the outside he is a brooding wall of muscle but we all know on the inside he could probably play the lute while cleaning the barrel of a gun without missing a step. Even though I enjoyed the adventures of Bran & Maddy I’m more excited for the next series which will feature the characters I most enjoyed Alex!

Lady’s and Gentlemen if you enjoy a high action romances that stops your heart during the high intense action yet melts your core while sitting in your seat then Sourcebooks Casablanca presents Book 2 of the Deep Six series, Devil in the Deep by Julie Ann Walker. This contemporary military themed treasure hunting adventure series might make you the newest Julie Ann Walker fan, I know I am!
Happy Reading Everyone
