five-stars

If events couldn’t get more exciting that watching our favorite female character Vin transform from a girl about to get the beat down to the girl who gave the beat down. Even though killing The Lord Ruler has created the religion of The Survivor, faith cannot stop Lutheadel from the rumors and chaos quickly approaching because of the large missing wealth of The Lord Rulers Atium. This only fuels the political influences of Straff Venture, Elend’s father, this is not a family reunion that anyone would expect to be pleasant. If that wasn’t enough for Elend to consider stressful, the second army is led by Ashweather Cett, who has taken the title of King of the Western Dominances, which is a very uncreative title since so many others have declared themselves the same. The last army that is threatening the city walls are the most dangerous, since the army consist of Koloss, a Koloss army. . .

What are Koloss?

Kolas are creatures  that have the physically appearances of human but their bodies are forever growing causing skin to rip and stretch as far as possible. The Koloss keep growing until their heart cannot support the size of their body. If this third army wasn’t shattering the walls of security the mere fact that the leader of the Kolos Army is actually Elend’s former friend Jastes.

The plot twist, other characters added as well as the true identity of what The Lord Ruler true was has the entire cast of Kelsey’s Crew trying to keep the city from slipping through their hands before a war could ever start. How horrible would it be to free the citizen’s who were suffering under The Lord Rulers hands only to be killed by three approaching armies? Isn’t it Ironic?

Elend spent so much of his youth dreaming if not plotting how to create an equal society in the city but his gentle approach of scholarly beliefs could not be fulfilled if it wasn’t from Sazed’s friend and love interest Tindwyl. A Terris Kepper who actually specializes in knowing about all the lives of successful leaders. With the help of Twindwyl mentoring him in the ways of how to be a leader his studies of politics, political theories and studies might finally be heard at the council meetings, hopefully. This politic talk can only create a distances between Elend and Vin which is when Zane approaches the storyline.

I can’t believe how Brandon Sanderson’s able to spin a web of fantasy so large that even when I think I know what’s about to happen I am always 100% surprised.
I really enjoy Brandon Sanderson’s epic fantasies!
I hope you give this book a read!

Happy Reading

About Brandon Sanderson

Brandon Sanderson was born in 1975 in Lincoln, Nebraska. As a child Brandon enjoyed reading, but he lost interest in the types of titles often suggested to him, and by junior high he never cracked a book if he could help it. This changed when an eighth grade teacher gave him Dragonsbane by Barbara Hambly.
