Full disclosure: This book is a DARK romance with elements of BDSM, slavery, violence, and super-hot sex. It is the last of the Acquisition trilogy, no cliffhanger. If you’re good with these caveats, enjoy!- Goodreads
I’m not even sure how to begin this review let alone what to say!
Celia Aaron has created for us a truly plot twisting dark romance series that not only arouses us but completely drenched us with jaw dropping scene of stimulation, envy, and gasps! I said this before in my first review of the Counsellor Acquisition #1, this is not the type of novel you want you best friend/mom see you reading. Heck you might not want to leave this book around in case a spouse starts to take romantic suggestions from the Vinemont brothers.
Now that the series is over I have to say that I rather enjoyed the Acquisition series!
I feel like this novel has touched the tip of my dark soul. It truly is a dark romance, almost an anti-hero romance story. In the Acquisition series, the hero in this story doesn’t save their romantic love interest from the villain, oh no! That’s not how it goes! The hero is actually the anti-hero, the lesser of the two evils who’ll save the romantic interest while viciously murdering those in the process.
After reading Magnate I really did not expect the series to end this way, especially when I considered how it began in the first novel, Counsellor! I’m really glad I decided to read beyond my normal relax because I love this series. It is a BDSM-bound tale of revenge, love, romance, and lots of smexy. Lord have mercy the sex. I mean the sex. I though years as an adolescent passing notes in a Catholic School would be enough to prepare me for the world of erotic dark romances, I am clearly wrong!
I am giving this novel
It’s simply amazing.
Definitely a novel where the readers should have patiences since the true plot is not revealed until the final trial. I believe Celia Aaron did this so the readers can connect with Stella as the world she’s now involved in is slowly revealed to her. I am only sadden by the fact that it’s over!
Sinclair oh how I misunderstood you!
How I judged you!
How I am so glad to have meet you!
You are definitely on my list for book boyfriends!
