five-stars

“Cursed with a horoscope that promises a marriage of Death and Destruction, sixteen-year-old Maya has only earned the scorn and fear of her father’s kingdom. Content to follow more scholarly pursuits, her world is upheaved when her father, the Raja, arranges a wedding of political convenience to quell outside rebellions. But when her wedding takes a fatal turn, Maya becomes the queen of Akaran and wife of Amar. Yet neither roles are what she expected. As Akaran’s queen, she finds her voice and power. As Amar’s wife, she finds friendship and warmth.

But Akaran has its own secrets – thousands of locked doors, gardens of glass, and a tree that bears memories instead of fruit. Beneath Akaran’s magic, Maya begins to suspect her life is in danger. When she ignores Amar’s plea for patience, her discoveries put more than new love at risk – it threatens the balance of all realms, human and Otherworldly.

Now, Maya must confront a secret that spans reincarnated lives and fight her way through the dangerous underbelly of the Otherworld if she wants to protect the people she loves.

I first saw Star Touched Queen when I was ordering The Queen of the Tearling on Amazon, since then I have been lusting over this novel. I was even envious of Sajda from Across The Worlds book blog when she had an opportunity to read an ARC. After reading her review about this novel I only fell in love with the idea of what this novel could be. I can honestly say now that I have read the novel for myself I am more than in love with this adventurous tale of a strong heroine, I am a fan of it!

How did I become a fan of Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi so quickly?
Star-Touched Queen has everything you are looking for when it comes to an adventure. Honestly have you ever read a book with such enchanting details that you just want to keep reading it over and over again because you’re just not read to leave the world in which you’re reading about? That’s how I felt while reading Star-Touched Queen. I didn’t want it to end more did I want to leave!
I’ll even explain the wonders of this bookish world in 3 easy steps

1 Does Star-Touched Queen have wonderful world building, or great imagery?

Why yes it does, I guarantee that you will be packing your bags the minute you hear of the wonders the Night Bazaar has to offer, or the creatures that you will encounter while shopping.

2 Does it have a swoon worth King?

Why of course it has a swoon worthy King don’t be silly! However his swoon points are not given to him because of his handsome features but because of his handsome heart, aw!

3. Will I enjoy the novel even if I don’t know much about Indian Mythology?

Yes you will! I’ll even let you in on a little secret this novel has a witty flesh eating horse. If she does’t win you over with her carnivores sense of humor I know her shocking bits of wisdom will encourage to you continue reading.

Please believe me when I say this.If you have ever read The Wrath and The Dawn by Reneé Adheih, or watched a Bollywood film an fallen in love with the cultural beauty of India, or perhaps your knowledge of Indian mythology only extenses to the lushes scene from the 1995 Little Princess, I beg you to please read this book. About Roshani Chokshi

Hi! I’m Roshani. My first book is being published by MacMillan. I live in a house the color of a pistachio and pay homage to a Great Pyr named Panda each morning. My stories draw on my heritage as a half-Filipina and half-Indian. I have one fake tooth (so far). Ten points to Gryffindor if you guess which one.
