Melancholy Ghost by Kat Mayor

It’s very superstitions writing! I’m not just talking about Steve Wonder, I’m literally talking about the vary superstitions writing of The Spirit Chasers and The Melancholy Ghost by Kat Mayor. You guys already know that Kat Mayor is not a new author here on LBO, I’ve talked about her for a year. Ever since she gave me the chance to meet “Control” Austin and the curvy red-head psychic Casey, I have been in love with not only the protagonist romance couple, but the entire crew of the Spirit Chaser Investigation.

This is my stop during the book blitz for Melancholy Ghost by Kat Mayor. This book blitz is organized by Lola’s Blog Tours. The book blitz runs from 21 till 27 February. You can see the blitz schedule here.

Melancholy GhostMelancholy Ghost
By Kat Mayor
Genre: Paranormal
Age category: Adult
Release Date: 14 February, 2017

From ghost hunter to ghost, haunted.

Barrett has a plan—help Austin regain his memory, surround him with his friends and loved ones, and lead him into the light. Unfortunately, the tragic investigation of a melancholy ghost derails everything.

As new lead investigator, Thai struggles to maintain the high ratings SCI has always enjoyed. After a few subpar investigations, the network execs demand results, even if it means the team must put their lives on the line for a house more deadly than its dead occupants.

There are worse things than being dead.

Austin knows something is wrong. Most people ignore him, time eludes him, and his hands are basically worthless. If only he could remember what happened, he would have the answers he so desperately seeks. He’s sick of Barrett’s lies and Casey’s deflections. Austin will have to figure this one out on his own. Will the truth set him free, or destroy his soul?

I said it once and I’ll say it again Kat Mayor is a talented writer who loves her character not only as a writer but as a lover of book herself. What really caught my heart about the character design of Casey, is the fact that she loves the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I’m already of dan of JLA, so having this fictional character love books as much as her author and of course me, a book blogger, only made my heart melt a thousand degree more. Now thing about all that love, all that talented writing then being reproduced in a sequel. SWOON ALERT!

Melancholy Ghost by Kat Mayor is an unique follow up to what has quickly become, one of my favorite paranormal romance. You know a book is good when it chances you’re entire perspective of what you enjoy in you’re reading. Usually if someone were to ask me what type or paranormal romance I enjoy reading, the results would have always been witchy, werewolf, and of course vampires. Thanks to the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout and Kay Mayor, aliens and ghost are both high needs in my paranormal reading! This is how unique Kay Mayor is with her writing. Even if you’re not interested in ghostly love, or love so strong that it breaks away from the normal routine of how strong you believe a love for a person can be, she’s the author to watch out for! Like I said, Melancholy Ghost is an amazing follow up to,The Spirit Chaser.

While Melancholy Ghost seems by it’s title that it would a slow read it automatically pulls you into each chapter. At times I felt that the book itself had a mind of it’s own. The tempo of the plot twist, character building, and of course the conflict between the crew members of the Spirit Chaser Investigators honestly felt like a pulse. The more you read, the more the storyline begins to beat, pulse and react, or maybe that was just how hard my own heart was beating when I was reading this book at night.

This book was everything I expected from a talented author such as Kay Mayor, she trapped me with the first book but she really stole my soul with the second. I will admit there were parts in the book were it felt slower in paste, but after flooding the author with Twitter questions, I realize that the portion of the book that I felt were slow weren’t there because of lack of experiences but because she’s plotting to bring those characters, and events back into focus for her next book. I think it’s a good idea for people to remember that this book is an going series. Kay Mayor, as a lot more in store for us! I’m so excited, nervous, and then excited again. Terrified what’s going to happen to Austin and Casey now that their is a new person apart of the team that doesn’t know about their ghostly assistances. What’s going to happen to the team with this new team member. Then again what’s going to happen to Austin now that he’s on the other side of the ghostly show? Is Austin going to have to pay for the price of his bold attitude towards ghost the hard way. Then again this leads to another question, is there a fate even worse than death? Are my lovable couple Austin and Casey going to experiences that twist of fate? What about the character Mired! I feel that we are not going to done with her or the demonic female that caused my beloved to pass away!

There are so much character development, character connection, relationships that are happening in this series The Spirit Chasers, I’m not sure my heart can take it! Please let me now the only blogger that readers Mayor’s book while burning sage!

Regardless if you’re brave, or a scaredy cat like me, it’s not hard to see that this book, The Spirit Chaser and it’s sequel book Melancholy Ghost are amazing. Not only is it amazing it’s enchanting. If I attempted to talk about the each characters plot and their role to the overall relationship that takes part in the Spirit Chaser Investigators relationship we would be here not only all day, but this post would never end, which is exactly what I want to happen to the love between Austin and Casey!

All in all you need to read this book. Let yourself trust Kay Mayor as much as I do. Please Kat Mayor take care of these characters. I know they are you’re babies but they are truly my best friends!

This is Lia signing off, and telling you to please read The Spirit Chaser series!
