Sometimes I get so excited about a book that I neglect to realize that it’s either apart of a series let alone that it’s the prequel to a series. It’s like getting the last punch line to joke that I don’t know what the joke set up is. Or as my mother would say eating the ice cream before it has time to settle in the cone. If you never done that before let me tell you the ball of ice cream lands squarely on the jelly sandal. Oh yea I said JELLY SANDALS I took it back there.
Way Back. The is the case for me, again! I requested the exciting adventures of Devil in the Deep by Julia Ann Walker not realize it’s BOOK 2 of Hell or High Water!
What can I say!
I saw Sourcebooks Casablanca on Netgallery and I get excited! Patently to excited to realize that I was ONCE AGAIN jumping the series! To remedy this situation I shall be reviewing Hell or High Water now!
O.M.G. Julie Ann Walker you are a force to be reckoned with!
Hell or High Water is a 2015 release from, Sourcebooks Casablanca publication. This novel is military theme romantic suspense novel that begins it’s tale with a group leader name LEO and his team of Navy SEALS, who in awesome traditional fashion are suppose to be officially retired after losing a team member during a mission.
When it comes to romantic figures with military background look no further than Leo, he is your super-hunk ALPHA male character who does not disappoint when Olivia Mortier creates jaw dropping sizzling chemistry. As much as I would love Leo & Olivia to begin their romances the members of Leo’s team are to help Olivia once she finds an off the record highly secretive operation that could put innocent lives at it’s mercy. As much as I want Leo to begin their romances their are more important task a head of them.
Can you have love in the middle of an adventure?
Can love survive during the dive of the deep blue sea?
Answer ummm yea because Julie Ann Walker wrote it! That’s why!
This obviously explains the first chapter of Deep in the Devil:Book 2 where the love between Leo and Olivia is gag-order sweet. Which only solidifies how amazing Julie Ann Walkers characters are. Leo is a perfect hero with an extraordinary military background, which greatly complements to Olivia’s heroine qualities. I’m so happy to have a character that can match the strength of her male counter part, and not break down like a china doll. I’m so excited when I see characters written with strength. Olivia’s smart, beautiful, witty, and did I mention she holds down her own fort when the heat’s turned up. What makes their relationship worth reading is how much she compliments Leo but also creates a caring compassionate love that is just dazzling to read. Julie Ann Walker+Sourcebooks Casablanca= Great romantic scenes, wonderful dialogue equals a great read!
I hope you enjoyed my review!
