As always I would like to give thanks to the powers of Netgalley and Sourcebook Fire, for allowing me the opportunity to read You Before Anyone Else by Julie Cross & Mark Perini. As always, I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. Just because I am a fan of many Sourcebook Fire book, will not, shall not, and shalt not, change my honest opinion of the book nor my review. This I swear as your book blogger, but I will say this though, that cover is amazing. I would totally pick this book up if I just saw the cover sitting on the shelf.

Goodread Blurb
Model Finley needs someone to help her shed her “good girl” persona, so she’ll try Eddie on for size.
New York City model Finley is fed up with hearing the same feedback at castings: she needs to take some serious action to wipe the “good girl” stamp from her resume if she wants to launch to stardom.
Enter Eddie Wells. He’s shallow, predictable…and just as lost as Finley feels. Deep down, Finley is drawn to Eddie’s bravado, his intensity. Except Eddie is hiding something. A big something. And when it surfaces, both loving and leaving Finley will become so much harder.

As you guys already know I am a deep lover of fantasy novels, but that doesn’t mean I can’t take time out of my world of fantasy to read some contemporary romance novel. I’m so glad that was able to request this book because it’s really a great read. I thought it was a young adult novel but it feels more like a subtle new adult romance novel, that is also a coming to age novel wrapped up in one. The writing is great, and I really like how the  writing flow creates that makes you not want to stop reading once you start.

What really makes the reading paste of this novel a steady read is the fact that it’s written in dual perspectives of Eddie and Fin’s voices. I’ve read only a few young adult or new adult novels that speak in dual POVs that I actually enjoyed, I must say this is really without a hitch an amazing switch between the two characters perspectives

I really didn’t know what to expect when I requested this book, nor did I truly know what to expect when I got the chances to meet both characters, what I did get is a very nice surprise. If you judge a book buy the blurb you’ll not truly gain how developed the characters of Eddie and Fin truly are. Both characters are strong individuals, who who have to face the truth that some terrible things happen regardless how hard we try to prevent them. I really like how Finley tries to help others,  she even attempts to be there for her family ( her brother and her father). Meanwhile Eddie, is just as  great as the counter part male character, he jus does what he things is right with the options available towards him. He’s the type of character strength that he’ll leave everything behind if it means gaining something/someone better. That’s not the action of someone who’s cocky, but the strength of someone whose bold, brave, and has a gorgeous heart.

The relationship between these two strong characters is really what makes this book so fun to read. They are the types of character that does what they think is right for THEMSELVES, not for each other. Fin will do what she feels is right for herself, while Eddie will do what is best for himself, and that’s just added bonus points to them supporting their family as well.

There is a lot of family dynamic int his book as well. A lot of young adult novels along with new adult, tend to focus more on PHYSICAL ROMANCES instead of the love of ourselves, and our family. I fell in love with Fin’s family, she has the best father in the world! I’m not going to spoil him for you, but seriously read this book just for the family value if you must! I love a man whose willing to love his daughter enough to trust her decisions as well. I’m not going to tell you any more than that! *Wink, Wink*

I will admit a few tears were shed when I read the main conflicts of the book, however the resolution towards the end really made my heart feel complete again.

If you haven’t already guess, I recommend this book for those who want to read a love story that is more than just the “physical feeling of falling in love”, but loving family and creating great friendships!
